Reading Sparks can be a treat, or for some odd reason, you find crap in the clues, making it simply ok. And coming off of reading some great stuff by the master of trash talk and heart throb, I was looking for another great read. But this time I didn't get that. I only got ok, but it wasn't too bad either.

We begin by joining a creepy Deputy, and his name is Keith Clayton. And before questioning some nude skinny-dipping women, he takes a few pictures to satisfy his lust. But then we meet another man named Logan Thibault, and his German Shepherd, Zeus. And Logan is on a walk. Quite a long walk, from several states, with a picture in his pocket. We learn that Thibault is a former Marine, and he's here to find a lady named Elizabeth. And when he finds her, he takes a job with her in her and Nana's dog kennel.

Thibault soon becomes a part of Elizabeth's life, and takes a liking to her son, Ben, despite losing in chess to him most of the time. The big problem is Ben's dad, Keith Clayton. And he's out for blood as to why Thibault made his way here, and why is Elizabeth so interested in this man.

When all was said and done, (yep, right before the Epilogue) I thought it all came to a sloppy crash-landing. And a maze of mixed emotions is the end result for the most part, with a rather forced ending. I've seen better from Sparks, but I've also seen worse from much better authors. I say if you can seperate the crap from some of the shady clues, then you'll enjoy this completely. And if that ends up being the case for other readers, LUCKY THEM! I still can't wait for other great reads that Sparks has to offer.

As always, Nicholas Sparks has written another novel that is very difficult to put down. I look forward to his next.

I could not wait to read "The Lucky One". I bought it as soon as it was released. The premise of the book was an interesting idea, but the book fell flat except for the last 8 pages. I kept thinking I was missing something, but my sister read it with the same exact sentiment. My favorites are still "A Walk to Remember" "The Rescue" and "The Notebook". Not one book he has written since has come close. This book was plain boring and seemed rushed and amateurish in the writing. Nicholas Sparks has talent just not in this not so Lucky One!

I was replacing a lost library book and needed a book with a specific ISBN number. I contacted the seller, told him my situation and he confirmed that the book he would be mailing me was a match. His accuracy enabled me to replace the book for less than half of what the library was going to charge me. His prompt and accurate response was extremely helpful and served to increase my level of trust in Amazon products.

This company (Imandracchia) did not send the book I ordered and failed to answer any of my e-mails, even the one requesting a refund. This is my first and last time I'll purchase from Amazon.com.

Robin Hobb continues her streak of excellent books with Dragon Keeper.

Set in the same world as her Assassin's Apprentice series, I was excited to read this.

No spoilers here, but the book starts slow (as a lot of her books do) but gets better as you get further along.

If you like Assassin's Apprentice or the Soldier's son trilogy, then I would strongly recommend this book to you.

Medvac helicopter pilot Ross Bellamy comes home after two years deployed in Afghanistan. His beloved grandfather, George, has terminal cancer, and refuses to receive any more medical treatment. Instead George has gone to Willow Lake in the Catskills to reconcile with his brother Charles before he dies; George's three sons had no idea he even had a brother.

George hires private-duty nurse Claire Turner, whose specialty is palliative care for the terminally ill, to accompany him. His family thinks Claire is using George and has the local cops thinking she kidnapped him. However, Ross observing very carefully knows otherwise as she is a caring professional. What he does not understand is why the beautiful Claire has buried herself with the Bellamy brothers and their kin in Avalon, New York; not that he is complaining as he is attracted to her. She reciprocates, but romance is not in the cards of someone in hiding having seen a murder but is ineligible for the witness protection program as the homicide was not a federal offense.

Although Claire's teenage past as a homicide witness is over the Catskills, fans will relish the return to Willow Lake starring a feisty dying Bellamy, his family especially his grandson, and a brave heroine fearing who may find her in rural New York. The character driven story line grips the audience when the Auburn cop pulls over Claire and George because his daughter-law from California hysterically convinces the police he is a kidnap victim. Fans will enjoy The Summer Hideaway as love grows with the Bellamy brood.

Yes, I still gave it four stars, because I liked it, but it was much shorter and less complex than her previous works. The Kindle formatting was pretty bad, too.

The purchase was quick easy and quick, Thanks Amazon.

My husband has wanted information on the Battle for Okinawa as his great uncle earned a Purple Heart there in April of 1945.

Wiggs has done it again, BRAVO. This most recent installment of the Bellamy family that we loved from the first book is just as touching and wonderful as the rest. Wiggs is a master of her craft. She evokes meaninful relationships, loves, losses and everything in between. Cannot get enough!
