I recieved this audio book with a note on the second disc that stated that the disc was very scratched up and didn’t play much at all. They were right, it was ruined. I can’t figure why they would send it in the condition it was in knowing the person recieving it would be most disappointed, as I certainly was. dl

I have learned while reading Nicholas Sparks to never underestimate his abilities to catch you in the beginning and keep you there until the very end. Dear John is a wonderful love story that makes you realize sometimes life is not always a cup of tea, and opens your heart to the possiblity that love, as strong as it might be, might not last through the changing lifestyles and triumphs of time. Great story, amazing ending. I loved this book, I even bought a copy for my grandmother!!

no matter who we are, or what we are doing in life, if we have a family, we all like to spend some quality time with them during the holidays.
it is something that i think we all have in common.
and for those of us who are less fortunate, i guarantee to you that they reminisce about quality family time at the very least. (i know i have been lately. this year has not been so good to me in the personal life department.)
i won’t go into detail about what happened to me. that’s not the point i’m trying to make here at all. i’m actually trying to understand how the entire planet has chosen a specific time of year to get all close and personal. cozy up with each other. etc.
and then it dawned on me. during the first rain of the season. it’s cold outside! we have to be inside if we want to stay warm. and if we want to get even warmer, we huddle together with those that we are close to.
could it be that we all get together during the winter time because we have to? to survive?
now i’m not saying that we don’t want to be together with the ones we love. we all know that we want to be with them. so maybe we have to huddle together during the winter to survive, but it is our decision as to who to pick to surround ourselves with. and then we all survive together.
and then we all survive together.
and then we all survive together.
and then we all survive.
together.
together.
and then we all survive together.

I have read every one of Nicholas Sparks book and loved them all. The end on this one dissopinted me a little but I know Savannah happy with him life with Tim. John and her were not meant to be. If this book had a sequal John would find someone that loves him more than Savannah ever could

I have read and LOVE every book that Nicholas Sparks has written. I didn’t like that John and Savannah didn’t end up together. But at the same time, I don’t think the book would have been as good if they would have ended up together. Tim was willing to give Savannah up. That made John think that Tim loved her more. I think that John loved her more by giving her up and donating the money for Tim to get the treatment he needed. To me that is more love than I have ever known. Nicholas Sparks is a wonderful writer. Thank you for great books to read. I look forward to the next book “The Choice”.
