I mean think about it really.
We have advertisements before a video.
A rollup on the video that you have to close.
Advertisement on the side. At the end of the video there are advertisements, where related videos used to be. When you go to the youtube homepage, there is an advertisement across the top.
Do they really NEED that many advertisements?

I don’t hear at any point in this video they discussed how the internet is changing advertising. They just talked about how advertising is making its way onto the internet to reach more consumers in annoying ways.
People sought to find freedom on the internet. Freedom from those annoying tv commercials while watching videos, so advertisers stepped in and shit all over video websites like youtube.

They make them uninteresting, repetitive animals and I am sickened by people who consistently buy into it, or they become it themself.
