on 03:17 your port: is 8889, but you put 8888 on localhost:8888 and not localhost:8889, how you make this runs?

@An0nymousHelper Make sure you put the name of your folder (mine was named “mag” but yours can be anything) If you are still having problems, check out the description for a link to some troubleshooting helps!

@kimo2u You can install as many local sites as you want. Each site needs to be in it’s own subfolder of the htdocs folder, and have it’s own unique wordpress install. Basically you’ll need to do the full install process for each site. Once you get the hang of it it goes pretty quickly.

Great tut!
Now what if i want to test more than one website.
Should I create another folder in the htdocs folder? Then copy in the wordpress install files. And then create a new database name usning the mamp app. Then a unique wp-config.php file containing the db name, and a new unique wordpress authentication key? Then run the install.php program.
is this right?
Thanks

I have to give you a huge thank you. This video enabled me to install WordPress. I have been trying to do it for days and was previously unsuccessful. I can’t describe the amount of stress it was causing me. So I just want to say a heartfelt thank you for your video, which helped me accomplish this. You have made my weekend!

I usually don’t take the time to comment on a video but I have to say, this is the best tutorial out there on how to do this for someone who has no idea what they’re doing. I have been scouring the web for the last two or three hours trying to figure out two or three issues I had with the other tutorials (skipping steps, typos, etc). I went through 5 or 6 tutorials before getting to this one where they didn’t explain that you have to edit the wp-config-sample.php file (newb, here. Hi!). thank u!
