I found the book to be in depth but I would have liked it to be more refined first then get in depth later in the book.

If you are serious about learning Painter X, yes the book is really worth what it costs. It expands and explains in much more detail , everything that is in the product manual, and I haven’t even looked at the CD that comes with the WoW Book. Do It if you can.

This book is a great source of information of how to use the program creatively and in many different approaches. There are a lot of examples from different Artists showing how they use Painter to create their work. And in the beginning of the book there is enough information to cover the basics.

This is a good book for both reference and inspiration. Its a very dense book, which covers a broad range of techniques and tools. Its only relevant if you already are using the Software and have some confidence about where things are etc. Its strength is that it has different artists which explain what techniques they used to develop their work. I found it useful to read the book through initially, and then go back to the individual elements I am interested in at the time I need them. Lots of extra’s in the CD to.
